Excerpt taken from introduction, I  love you my Goose

"I believe this is a book that will make you cry.

"It is a book that will make you laugh.

"It is a book that will make you think.

"This book will have succeeded in its mission, however, only if it can help insure that cancer does not cause another child to die."

WHY CHILDRENS CANCER MUST BE STOPPED

1. CHILDRENS CANCER is the leading killer of children, more than AIDS, Cystic Fibrosis, and genetic anamolies combined.

2. Some 2300 children die of childhood cancer each year in the United States.

3. Even for the more than 12,000 children who are diagnosed with cancer each year and who survive, they often face horrendous treatments lasting more than two years and often suffer severe long term side effects.

4. The research and cures that save children's lives will produce a better knowledge of other adult cancers leading to better treatments and cures for those diseases.
